Giving back to New Zealand’s local communities is a value deeply embedded in BPM’s Kaupapa and so we were honored to be part of the community driven Motueka Rudolf Steiner School project. Acting in both a governance and project delivery role, this unique project required a unique method of delivery, and we were up to the challenge.
35 years after the initial concept, BPM were responsible for taking the project from concept through detailed design, consent, and ultimately on-site delivery. Our role included the establishment of a team of local consultants, working alongside contractors and volunteers needing us to establish initiative ways of procurement.
We worked with the Community Trust and bank to provide assurance on project budgeting and undertook financial drawdowns on behalf of the Client. Our role was key in the project being completed on time and $200K under budget which, enabled additional spending on extra facilities, such as playing courts, shade areas, outdoor furniture, additional landscaping, outdoor teaching shelters and play equipment.
