BP | Greymouth Retail Shop

Client: BP2GO Greymouth
Project Type: Advisory, Commercial, Demolition, Fit-out, Hazardous, Petroleum
Project Manager: Dan Bradley
Location: Greymouth

We provided project management services for design, consenting, procurement and construction phases of this project. Additionally providing Engineer to Contract services and Contract administration for multiple client engaged contractors.

This project was a good example of how we challenge the status quo and go well beyond that of a normal project management delivery. When the client came to us in hope that they could somehow fit a standard BP shop design onto their franchised site we responded by considering the overall impact on the existing operation and proposed a different solution.

Working with the BP preferred architect we proposed a reduced scale shop that still provided the overall experience and offer of the standard version. Included in that we proposed a different construction methodology that created a more cost-effective building structure.

By reducing the overall footprint of the proposed building structure, we were then able to work with a building contractor as part of early engagement, to develop a building methodology that enabled the proposed building to be constructed while the site continued to operate. This meant a reduction of overall downtime to the client’s operation gaining them a significant amount of revenue that would have otherwise been lost during construction.

The concept was so successful that it now forms part of BP’s standard design format.
